Imagine a superstar athlete. At the top for several years now, but as he’s getting older, new players join the league. They are fast, agile, hungry, and dedicated. Just waiting to take his place.

Now imagine that this well-known and experienced superstar gets a new teammate. Relatively young, but ready to hustle. The chemistry between them is just great. They complement each other. First brings experience and reliability, second adds skills and athleticism. The cooperation opens up completely new possibilities.

This is a very simple sports analogy for Bitcoin and Stacks.

Bitcoin provides security and stability, while Stacks delivers scalability and flexibility. No, it’s not Eminem’s verse. Networks interact through a consensus mechanism called Proof of Transfer (PoX), making the best of both worlds. Stacks brings dapps, Clarity smart contracts and digital assets. Bitcoin? Well, a trusted network with over 60% market cap dominance.

Now let’s talk about the fundamentals, which are as important in sports as in crypto.

Stacks is a layer-1 blockchain for smart contracts and decentralized applications, and there’s already more than 500 of them. From wallets and developer tools to life trackers and games, all settled on the Bitcoin blockchain, allowing users to keep control of their data. Stacks token (STX) is used to fuel Clarity smart contracts and as a reward for those who secure the network.

What’s interesting, the offering of STX has already made history, becoming the first ever to receive SEC approval under Regulation A+. It was a classic Initial Coin Offering (ICO), but regulated by SEC. Why should I care? Because individual investors were allowed to take part, meaning wider token distribution.

The project itself was founded in 2013. Mainnet launched in 2018, and if you’re good at math, you know it had plenty of time for improvement, what’s crucial in a rapidly growing industry, and no money can buy it.

What’s forming right now in the cryptocurrency space can be well described by this common term used, inter alia, in sports, which refers to a unique combination of forces resulting in a positive outcome. A Dynamic Duo.
